Revie Lake Welcomes Impact Detect as a New Partner Focused on Motorsport Safety

Revie Lake is delighted to announce a partnership with Impact Detect, a company developing technology designed to capture and monitor impact data across motorsport and other safety-critical environments.

For a young racing driver, safety is something that is impossible to separate from performance.

Every lap is about pushing towards the limit.

But understanding what happens when that limit is exceeded is equally important.

Turning impacts into information

Impact Detect develops low-cost impact-detection technology designed to measure and monitor impacts, from smaller vibrations through to significant crashes.

The company's technology is described as small, lightweight, robust and battery-powered, making it suitable for integration into helmets and other applications where weight and comfort are important.

In motorsport, that technology has a particularly important role.

A crash can happen in a fraction of a second.

The physical consequences may not always be immediately obvious.

Having accurate information about what happened can therefore be extremely valuable.

Motorsport safety is changing

Impact Detect is already working within the motorsport safety ecosystem.

The company has partnered with the FIA on the FIA Impact Data Recorder, a small, lightweight, battery-operated device designed to detect and store impact information from racing incidents.

In July 2026, the FIA announced a low-cost Impact Data Recorder developed in collaboration with Aim Technologies/Impact Detect.

The FIA said the objective was to make relevant incident data available at more levels of motorsport, with the organisation highlighting that the vast majority of fatal accidents occur in amateur-level motorsport where impact data is not currently collected.

That makes the technology particularly relevant to the wider motorsport community.

A natural partnership for a young racer

Revie is still only 16, but his racing career is already moving rapidly.

After beginning in Ginetta Junior during 2025, he stepped up to the British GT Championship for 2026, competing in a McLaren Artura GT4.

The step up has brought faster cars, longer races and more complex competition.

It has also brought a greater appreciation of the importance of safety.

GT racing is inherently demanding.

Cars race at high speed, often with multiple classes sharing the same circuit, and incidents can occur without warning.

For Revie, working alongside a company whose focus is on understanding and responding to impacts is therefore particularly meaningful.

Beyond the racing driver

Impact Detect's technology is not limited to motorsport.

The company says its systems have applications across mobility and team sports, as well as environments including construction, mining, military and rescue services.

Its underlying philosophy is simple: better information can lead to better decisions.

That principle applies equally to racing.

Understanding incidents helps engineers and safety organisations understand what happened.

Understanding performance data helps drivers improve.

And understanding risk helps motorsport continue becoming safer.

Looking towards the future

Revie's own season has already included the highs and lows that come with pushing a GT4 car to its limits.

At Snetterton, he qualified third in GT4 before retiring on the opening lap.

At Oulton Park, he and teammate Blake Angliss fought through difficult circumstances to produce encouraging recovery performances.

And at Spa, Revie demonstrated front-running pace in one of Europe's most famous circuits.

As his career develops, safety will remain fundamental to every step.

"Motorsport is about pushing yourself, but safety has to come first," says Revie. "I'm really pleased to have Impact Detect supporting me and to be working with a company that is helping develop the future of safety in our sport."

Welcome to the Revie Lake Racing family, Impact Detect.
